"Self-discipline is the foundation of inculcating strong will power”
The above statement or quote is what comes to my mind when I hear the word willpower and self-discipline together.
There are hundreds of books, articles written on willpower, and self-discipline, and people do read the same and try to absorb the essence of building self-willpower but they fail. Willpower is an instrument that we need to nourish within ourselves. It is not easy, but not difficult either. It is all in our minds. One's self-discipline will push towards inculcating willpower which in return leads to happiness
Like Clouds!
Have you ever stared at the clouds wondering where they're heading? If so! Then
you're listening to the mind and that's not the way willpower should be. We should
do things according to our will and not the other way and it is possible only
through self-discipline. Like clouds always head in the right direction.
No Discipline, No Willpower!
Patience is the Key!
What is boring to you is actually an instrument to build self-discipline. Let’s say, your cricket team needs 50 runs in the last 10 overs and you are the last wicket batsman. What will you do? You cannot smash a ball like you have all the freedom. Here patience plays the role. It makes you disciplined enough to make your team win.
Ask the right questions
Questioning can be the source of everything. By asking the right question, we can maintain discipline for a longer period.
True to be yourself!
Questions like, what is causing me to complete this task? or why am I not able to focus on a particular thing? It is the will to ask questions, if we do so, we will have strong determination or willpower regarding our goals.
Are We Authentic?
Success and Failure are a part of life, not life itself. Self-discipline works for oneself and so will willpower. If we develop these, we grow in life. Half the job is done by getting true to oneself and the other half needs your willpower, self-discipline, or patience, whatever you may call.
Halwa - Conclusion!
To conclude, self-discipline and willpower are not halwa. It needs your sincerity and seriousness to function properly. Developing understanding and creating awareness in the mind is what makes you reach the destination.
